Valid identification (New Zealand driver's license or passport) must be presented at the time of registration.

Membership may be terminated at the discretion of the Library Committee.
Membership Activation:
Payment must be completed before any toys can be borrowed.
Holiday Closures:
The Library observes public holidays and closes for a specified period during December/January. Closure dates will be announced on the Library's notice board and Facebook page.
Conduct and Responsibilities:
Respect and Behavior:
Members must treat Librarians and other staff with respect at all times. Any form of abuse will not be tolerated and may result in membership termination.
Toy Return:
Only parents or guardians are allowed to return toys to ensure proper handling and accountability. Children should not return toys themselves.
Borrowing Policies:
Loan Period and Limits:
Toys may be borrowed for two weeks, with a one-week grace period before fines apply. Members can borrow up to 8 toys per visit (new members are limited to 3 toys on their first three visits).
Responsibility for Toys:
Check toy counts and descriptions before borrowing. Members are responsible for all toys issued to them. Do not exchange or borrow toys on behalf of others.
Care of Toys:
Please keep toys in good condition and store outdoor toys appropriately to avoid weather damage.
Toy Care and Usage:
Age-Appropriate Use: To ensure the longevity and safety of our toys, members must ensure that toys are used in an age-appropriate manner. Toys designated for younger children must not be used by older children, as this can increase the risk of damage. Please adhere to the age guidelines provided with each toy to prevent misuse and potential breakage.
Returning Toys:
Condition of Returns:
Return toys clean, undamaged, and complete (including boxes and instructions). Puzzles should be returned assembled.
Fines for Late Returns:
Toys overdue by a week or more will incur a fine of $2 per toy per week.
Cleaning Requirements:
Clean toys at least a day before returning to ensure they are dry and ready for the next member. Toys returned in unclean condition will be loaned out again to the same member for cleaning.
Health and Safety Guidelines:
Sick Children:
To prevent the spread of illness, please refrain from bringing sick children to the Library. If a Librarian is sick and a replacement cannot be arranged, the Library may close without much notice. Updates will be provided via our Facebook page.
Toy Cleaning:
Members are required to clean toys before returning them. See the "Tips for Cleaning Toys" for guidelines, particularly after illness, as viruses can persist on surfaces.
Safety and Damage:
While we strive to maintain safe toys, please report any safety concerns. The Library is not liable for damages or injuries resulting from toy use.
